Call to order and quorum check

We began the meeting at 6:35; a quorum of the executive committee was present.

Treasurer’s report

The treasurer reported June income of $62.04 and expenditures of $113.61. Most of the expenditure was for the party for Cheryl Harris; the rest was miscellaneous fees. The current balance is $4033.02.

The treasurer reported that he had attended the treasurer’s training offered by the DPNM treasurer, which stressed the importance of good records.

Several members of the EC noted expenditures they had made on behalf of Adelante; if not reimbursed, these should be recorded as contributions.

Political director

The political director reported that she will send out a Doodle poll to try to set a meeting time for a political subcommittee. The interim committees of the state legislature have begun meeting; she has been tracking natural resources and water particularly.

There was discussion of several related topics, including Supreme Court rulings on gun control, prospects for gun violence legislation, diversion of the Gila River, delays in DCCC funding for Gabe Vasquez, and the possible consequences fo the NM Supreme Court decision to let the challenge to the congressional redistricting go forward.

Party celebrating Ivan Pfeifer

NO reported that the party to thank Ivan Pfeifer for all his work in support of Adelante and other caucuses had been a great success. She will send pictures to MSM for placement on the web site.

Outreach meeting in Socorro

CC reported that the outreach meeting in Socorro had had limited turnout, but that Pete Dinelli had given an excellent talk on gun violence issues.

SPARC meeting 29 July, Rio Rancho

NO reported that SPARC will have a meeting 10-2 on Saturday 29 July in Rio Rancho; she urged people to attend.
